I have been interested in the medical and healing arts for most of my life. I decided to study Chinese Medicine later in life, and I’ve been completely taken by its beauty and poetry, by its coherence and logic, and most importantly, by its effectiveness. I am fascinated by how our bodies respond to acupuncture. Every single patient presents a unique puzzle and a new process of discovery. Each treatment is a personalized approach to what brings health and balance to the body. Finding the best approach and seeing results are deeply fulfilling experiences for me as a practitioner, and I am always in awe that people allow me to go along on this journey with them.
As I continue to grow in my practice, my focus has shifted from treating pain to internal medicine, with an emphasis on reproductive and sexual health. I treat women who are trying to get pregnant or who are experiencing menstrual or menopausal symptoms, and I help men who are dealing with infertility, sexual dysfunction, or prostate issues. By using acupuncture and herbal medicine, I have access to a powerful approach that allows me to address not only the physical, but also the emotional aspects of sexual health and infertility.
I have degrees in math and psychology, and in 2007 I enrolled at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. I completed the Asian bodywork certification program there then moved to Portland, OR where I received my Masters degree in acupuncture and Oriental medicine from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. As I learn more about this medicine, I am continually fascinated by it. It paints a whole picture of the person in his/her environment and uses a poetic metaphor to help solve the puzzle of disease and bring about wellness.
